Riding the Bus to School.

Got this idea from Deanna Jump's name unit from tpt.

My Family

This week we learned all about families.  My AWESOME student teacher made a venn diagram on the promethean board to help us see how many of us had brothers, sisters, or both.  They love using the promethean board.  We also made a house glyph to show who all lives in our house.  Thanks Ashley Brown for the great idea.  I'll post pictures soon.

Chrysanthemum

Chrysanthemum recording sheet.

Chrysanthemum has 13 letters in her name.  How many are in your name?  We graphed how many letters in our name and then analyzed our graph.

Bubble Gum Glyphs

For pink day, we tried to blow bubbles (with pink bubble gum) and then made a bubble gum machine glyph.  I think next year we will add a penny to our glyph to designate if you could blow a bubble.  Ahh the things we think of after the fact.

Donor's Choose

I just love Donor's Choose.  Here are a few of my kiddos enjoying some new books I received from Donor's Choose.  Thank-you to all the people out there that support education through your donations to Donor's Choose.

Little Miss Muffet.

I love watching the kids re-enact Little Miss Muffet.  We repeat as many times as necessary to give everyone a chance to be the spider and Miss/Mr. Muffet.  I just have a couple of pictures because the batteries decided to die in my camera.  Miss Whitemore took some with her phone so hopefully I can add some more pictures later.

Color Fireworks

Saw this great activity on-line but wasn't sure what it was.  So glad Miss Whitemore knew what it was because her description of it sounded like too much fun to pass up.  The expression on my kids faces definitely made it worth the effort.  It was a great culmination to our unit on colors.  We also made a milk rainbow and then let the kids drink their favorite color.  Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of the milk rainbow.

Student Intern

I am so lucky to have a GREAT student intern this semester.  She is doing an outstanding job and the kiddos just love her.  Here she is doing calendar time on the promethean board
