Fairy tale literacy fun.

Promethean Flipchart

This week our theme was fairy tales.  We read several versions of "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" and then used a venn diagram on the promethean board to compare them.  One of our literacy stations was Cinderella's Slipper Blends.  The kids had to cut the blend pictures and glue them with the correct slipper.  I was really surprised at the difficult time some of my students had identifying the correct blend.  /dr/ and /tr/ really gave them fits.  I also had a math game on the Promethean Board, Jack's Gold.  Guess we will be working on blends some more.  Check out our Three Bears TLC project.

Snowmen at Night

What do you think snowmen do at night?  My kiddos had some wonderful, creative ideas for what they think their snowman would do at night.  After reading "Snowman at Night" we painted snowmen using shaving cream and glue mixed together.  After drying, the snowmen are "puffy".  They then wrote what they think their snowman would do at night.  The some of the responses were hysterical.

We made these wonderful TLC King projects then completed the prompt "I have a dream...."
